On April 16, the grand auditorium of Samara University echoed with music as the beloved student ensemble “White Grand Piano” held its traditional Spring Concert—a highlight of the university’s cultural calendar.
The evening opened, as tradition dictates, with a performance by students of the Samara International Aerospace Lyceum, setting a vibrant tone for the night. The concert was once again hosted by the charismatic duo Yelena Ivanova and Yegor Solodovnikov.
This year’s program spanned an impressively diverse musical spectrum, featuring songs by Radiohead, Murakami, Imagine Dragons, Aria, Drowning Pool, Animal Dschаz, Cannibal Corpse, and more. The audience was treated to a seamless sonic journey—from gentle, melodic soft rock to intense, high-energy death metal—demonstrating the club’s versatility and deep musical passion.
“This was my first major concert with ‘White Grand Piano,’” shared guitarist Maksim Ran. “We rehearsed calmly, without last-minute panic. Of course, there was some pre-show anxiety—what if something went wrong? But everything came together beautifully. It was an amazing night! I loved not only performing but also listening to the other groups. And I have to give a special shout-out to our bassists’ march—it was unforgettable!”
Club mentor Nikita Davydov summed up the evening with pride:
“This concert wasn’t an easy one—but united by our shared love for music, the team delivered yet another powerful, memorable show we can truly be proud of. I’m incredibly proud of everyone who contributed, and I’m certain this won’t be the last time we rise to the occasion.”
With energy, artistry, and unwavering dedication, “White Grand Piano” once again proved that music remains a vital heartbeat of student life at Samara University.
